The Cookie Book Tag

Thursday is now Tag day at Sorry, I’m Booked!

I’m checking off a blog 2016 goal: create my own book blog tag! Yay!

I actually had another tag post all set up and ready to publish today, but yesterday I created this tag and just had to post it first 🙂

I was thinking about another book tag I want to do when inspiration for this one just hit me. It isn’t uncommon for a book tag be associated with food and drink, so being the cookie monster that I am, I started to think of types of books that relate to different kinds of cookies. I actually started out doing just Girl Scout cookies (considering the girls are everywhere selling them right now!), but then realized that I only knew of three kinds of Girl Scout cookies, that I’ve eaten. So, I tossed that and just went with well known cookies.

Note: I did discover that I am not the first to think of this type of book tag. Josh from Literary Gladiators on Youtube created his own cookie book tag in October 2015. A couple of my cookies and corresponding questions are similar, but I did my best to make mine more original 🙂

The Rules

  • Since this my first tag, I would love to see everyone’s answers, so in addition to linking back to the person who tagged you, if you could link back to this post, I will forever love you 😉 !
  • Pick a book that corresponds to the cookie’s ‘theme’
  • Have fun!
  • Tag 1-3 people

The Cookies

  • Chocolate Chip: A Classic Book That You Love or Really Enjoyed (interpret classic how you want, it can be a classic written 100 years ago or 20 years ago)
  • Thin Mints: A Fandom That You Really Want to ‘Join’ AND/OR a Hyped-Up Book You Want To Read (your source(s) of a book being hyped can be from anywhere)
  • Shortbread: An Author You Can’t Get Enough Of
  • Samoas/ Caramel DeLites: An Emotional Rollercoaster (this cookie was hard … so any book that made you feel more than one emotion, strongly. The choice of emotions is up to you)
  • Oreos: A Book Whose Cover Was Better Than The Story OR Vice Versa, Where The Story Was Better Than Its Cover
  • Tagalongs/ Peanut Butter Patties: A Book That Wasn’t What You Expected (good, bad, or just different, interpret how you wish)
  • Snickerdoodles: A Book You May Never Stop Rereading/ Loving
  • Bonus: Choose a cookie I didn’t list and make up a question!

My Books

Titles link to Goodreads

Chocolate Chip: A Classic I Loved

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

84979

It’s one of the classics that will always be around.

Thin Mints: A Hyped-Up Book I Want To Read (I also want to be a part of this fandom)

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman

25524728

This one was really hard for me, there are several. But seeing as I now own a few of the books, I went with this one because not only have I seen it everywhere, but I’m pretty I’ve read nothing but positive reviews. And it sounds right up my alley.

Shortbread: An Author I Can’t Get Enough Of

John Twelve Hawks

80754  Unknown

It’s partly because I’m reading his latest book, Spark, right now. But after I finish Spark, I will have read the majority of his books. I think he has perfected the dystopia future a la 1984.

Samoas: An Emotional Rollercoaster of A Book

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

136251

Tell me you didn’t experience more than strong emotion while reading this? Disregarding the sadness for the series coming to an end, I remember feeling quite a few different emotions.

Oreos: A Book Whose Inside Was Better Than Its Cover

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey

b1d98b27c04da7effc1e0866a176e6ed

I’m really sad that I didn’t look into covers and editions for this book more because there are some really great covers for this book; covers I like way better than the edition I have, pictured above. I actually chose the above edition because it had original drawings placed within the text. I mean the above cover isn’t bad, but there are cooler ones I’ve seen.

Tagalongs: A Book That Wasn’t What I Expected

The First Bad Man by Miranda July

21412400

This novel definitely turned out to be different than expected. It certainly had a weirder and slightly quirkier story that I thought.

Snickerdoodles: A Book I May Never Stop Rereading/ Loving

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

51738

Oh man, there were several that fit this category. But I’m going to have to go with the book that first popped into my head, which is Just Listen. It hits home for me, which is why I think I’ll never stop loving it. Plus, I really wanted my own Owen. Okay who I am kidding, I’m still waiting for him to pop up 🙂

I Tag …

The Orang-utan Librarian

Ines at MsCarrowl

Kat at Life and Other Disasters

Have fun and remember there is absolutely no pressure to complete this! 🙂

Happy Reading!

  1. […] Books and cookies are a great combination! Especially if there is also tea involved. I don’t really have one favourite kind of cookie, because I can’t choose. I love chocolate chip cookies, but also oreos, and stroopwafels too! The last one is a Dutch cookie, I’m not sure you can buy it outside the Netherlands. However, here is The Cookie Book Tag. It’s originally created by Sorry, I’m Booked. […]

  2. […] I saw this tag over on Chasm of Books and thought I should give it a try! It’s been way too long since I’ve done a book tag and I am currently still savoring my Girl Scout cookies, so why not?! It was created originally by Sorry I’m Booked. […]
