The Cookie Book Tag

Thursday is now Tag day at Sorry, I’m Booked! 

I’m checking off a blog 2016 goal: create my own book blog tag! Yay!

I actually had another tag post all set up and ready to publish today, but yesterday I created this tag and just had to post it first 🙂

I was thinking about another book tag I want to do when inspiration for this one just hit me. It isn’t uncommon for a book tag be associated with food and drink, so being the cookie monster that I am, I started to think of types of books that relate to different kinds of cookies. I actually started out doing just Girl Scout cookies (considering the girls are everywhere selling them right now!), but then realized that I only knew of three kinds of Girl Scout cookies, that I’ve eaten. So, I tossed that and just went with well known cookies.

Note: I did discover that I am not the first to think of this type of book tag. Josh from Literary Gladiators on Youtube created his own cookie book tag in October 2015. A couple of my cookies and corresponding questions are similar, but I did my best to make mine more original 🙂

Thin Mints: A Hyped-Up Book I Want To Read (I also want to be a part of this fandom)

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman

This one was really hard for me, there are several. But seeing as I now own a few of the books, I went with this one because not only have I seen it everywhere, but I’m pretty I’ve read nothing but positive reviews. And it sounds right up my alley.

Shortbread: An Author I Can’t Get Enough Of

It’s partly because I’m reading his latest book, Spark, right now. But after I finish Spark, I will have read the majority of his books. I think he has perfected the dystopia future a la 1984.

Samoas: An Emotional Rollercoaster of A Book

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

Tell me you didn’t experience more than strong emotion while reading this? Disregarding the sadness for the series coming to an end, I remember feeling quite a few different emotions.

Oreos: A Book Whose Inside Was Better Than Its Cover

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey

I’m really sad that I didn’t look into covers and editions for this book more because there are some really great covers for this book; covers I like way better than the edition I have, pictured above. I actually chose the above edition because it had original drawings placed within the text. I mean the above cover isn’t bad, but there are cooler ones I’ve seen.

Tagalongs: A Book That Wasn’t What I Expected

The First Bad Man by Miranda July

This novel definitely turned out to be different than expected. It certainly had a weirder and slightly quirkier story that I thought.

Snickerdoodles: A Book I May Never Stop Rereading/ Loving

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

Oh man, there were several that fit this category. But I’m going to have to go with the book that first popped into my head, which is Just Listen. It hits home for me, which is why I think I’ll never stop loving it. Plus, I really wanted my own Owen. Okay who I am kidding, I’m still waiting for him to pop up 🙂
