It’s Thursday Tag day!
I was tagged by the lovely Katherine from Mapping Souls with Words to do this. Thanks for the tag! This tag was created by Ayunda at Tea and Paperbacks. I’ll also be using this as my post for Rachel’s at Beauty and the Bookshelf’s Blogging Extravaganza post 3!
The Rules:
- Mention the creator of the tag Ayunda (AYUNDA @ TEA AND PAPERBACKS).
- Thank the blogger who tagged you.
- Choose one of the options, you don’t have to tell the reasons why you chose that, but you can also do them if you want to.
- Tag 10 other people to do this tag to spread the love!
The Questions:
Reading on the couch or the bed?
Hmm, it varies with me. Usually on weeknights I’m reading in bed before I go to sleep. But I tend to do both on the weekends.
Male main character or female main character?
I’ll be honest, I end up reading books with female main characters more often if it’s first person narrative. But, it’s a lot easier to read about a male main character if it’s in third person. But really it depends on well written the characters are too.
Sweet snacks or salty snacks when reading?
No preference, although I rarely eat when reading.
Trilogies or quartets?
Depends, does it really need the fourth book? As long as the story doesn’t feel prolonged in any way, I don’t care.
Series or stand-alones?
Ooh, this is hard! I love series, but sometimes a good stand alone book is just perfect.
First or third person point of view?
I like both! But it depends on what the story is, because sometimes third works best and sometimes first works best.
Reading at night or in the morning?
Both! Plus anytime in the day haha. I have been reading a lot more at night though just because I work full time.
Libraries or bookstores?
Right now, bookstores! But only because my local library is a little outdated. I have an appreciation for both 🙂
Books that make you laugh or books that make you cry?
Laugh! I give kudos to those few books that have made me cry, but ultimately I love a good laugh, specially if it’s done really well!
Black or white book covers?
I actually have a few more black books than white, but I prefer colored ones 🙂
Characters or plot?
You know, I think I might have to say plot because it’s the plot that catches my attention when I first start to read the book while in the bookstore or just from the blurb. Then it’s the characters that start to get me 🙂
I Tag:
Marie at Drizzle and Hurricane Books
Sarah & Faith at Sublime Reads
So, that isn’t ten, but I also don’t know who else has done this tag already. As always, no pressure to do this tag!
Happy Reading!
The final question about character vs. plot is tough because the two are so inextricably intertwined, but I have to agree, interesting things need to be happening to keep me reading.

Yes, they are absolutely intertwined and usually summaries give a quick sentence about a character or two, but then focus on the plot it seems 🙂
