It’s almost the weekend! And since my work gives Good Friday off this week, today is my last day of the work week and officially my last day at my current place of work before I head off to a new adventure.
About a month ago, I saw this tag done by Reg at She Latitude and looked like so much fun and with all the changes going on in my life, this felt like a tag that would fit in perfectly for this week on the blog.
What is the meaning of my name?
My name is Nicole, which gains its meaning from . . .
From the Greek name Νικολαος (Nikolaos) which meant “victory of the people” from Greek νικη (nike) “victory” and λαος (laos) “people”. It’s the French feminine form of Nicholas, commonly used in the English-speaking world since the middle of the 20th century.
What is my Myer-Briggs personality type? (link)
Whenever I do a Myer-Briggs or similar personality type, I usually get the ISFJ personality though I can easily slip over into a INFJ since the Intuitive and Observing (sensing) is close to being split evenly. Since the test I took put me as ISFJ, that is what I’ll put here.
The Defender personality type is quite unique, as many of their qualities defy the definition of their individual traits. Though sensitive, Defenders have excellent analytical abilities; though reserved, they have well-developed people skills and robust social relationships; and though they are generally a conservative type, Defenders are often receptive to change and new ideas.
Here are some points to help describe the personality more; I chose the ones that I identify with the most . . .
- Defender personalities (especially Turbulent ones) are often meticulous to the point of perfectionism, and though they procrastinate, they can always be relied on to get the job done on time.
- Naturally social, an odd quality for Introverts, Defenders utilize excellent memories not to retain data and trivia, but to remember people, and details about their lives.
- Defenders are very supportive of those they care about and are the universal helpers, sharing their knowledge, experience, time and energy with anyone who needs it.
- They are reliable and patient who take a meticulous and steady approach to getting things done though they’ll bend when needed to meet the end goal.
- They are very loyal and hard working; Defender personalities often form an emotional attachment to the ideas and organizations they’ve dedicated themselves to. To me, this also means forming that bond with those I care for deeply.
- Some of the biggest challenges that Defenders face is taking things too personally by not separating the personal from the impersonal, repressing their feelings, and taking too much on.
What is my Zodiac Sign?
I used this website to discover all the things about being a Gemini. So, Gemini’s have the following . . .
- Strengths: Gentle, affectionate, curious, adaptable, ability to learn quickly and exchange ideas
- Weaknesses: Nervous, inconsistent, indecisive
- Gemini likes: Music, books, magazines, chats with nearly anyone, short trips around the town
- Gemini dislikes: Being alone, being confined, repetition and routine
Expressive and quick-witted, Gemini represents two different personalities in one and you will never be sure which one you will face. They are sociable, communicative and ready for fun, with a tendency to suddenly get serious, thoughtful and restless. They are fascinated with the world itself, extremely curious, with a constant feeling that there is not enough time to experience everything they want to see.
I can definitely be nervous and indecisive, but I wouldn’t say I’m inconsistent. If anything, I feel like I lean towards more being the opposite. I don’t anyone would like be confined, but I do dislike repetition and routine which I know can be contradictory to what I just wrote . . . BUT that is what a Gemini is all about being. You never know what side you’re getting ;)
What is my Hogwarts House?
Before the Pottermore Sorting Hat quiz was changed, I was placed in Hufflepuff. When I took the new test (and tried it a few times), I got Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. I believe that I am definitely a Hufflepuff with a little Ravenclaw thrown in. Go Ravenpuffs ;) I decided to use this quiz to figure out what house and the sorting hat says Hufflepuff!
What are my Learning Styles? (link)
I have a multimodal learning preference (VARK).
- Visual 8
- Aural 11
- Read/Write 10
- Kinesthetic 13
So I learn better by mostly doing and listening – I would guess usually at the same time.
Am I Right or Left Brain Dominant? (link)
Surprisingly, I use both sides of my brain pretty equally. Which I guess means a balance between rules, logic, and details with creativity, intuition, and curiosity. I always kind of thought that I leaned more towards left-sided.
What Career Am I Meant To Have? (link)
You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.
I am definitely not surprised by this answer haha.
Which Divergent Faction Do I Belong In? (link)
You belong in Amity!
You belong with the peaceful. You hate when people fight over the stupidest things, and you’re never one to argue. You’re chill, always laid-back You’re open to the opinions of others, and you love being surrounded by people. You’re at your worst when you’re not on good terms with somebody, and you hate making enemies. You’re willing to make sacrifices if it means keeping the peace, and you usually play mediator. You’re fashion is always bright and vibrant, and you’re not afraid of color. You love music, art, and games—anything that will make you laugh, dance, or have a good time.
I am not surprised by this at all! I tend to like to avoid conflict when possible.
What Does My Birth Order Say About Me? (link)
I’m the baby of the family with only one older sibling, a sister, and apparently that means I have the following traits: free spirit, risk taker, charming. Honestly, the only thing that sort of fits is the free spirit one. I don’t think I’m a risk taker or charming at all.
I actually tend to be more responsible like a first born child and being a peacekeeper and fairies-obsessed like a middle child.
What is my Sims Personality? (link)
Because I absolutely love The Sims computer game, I had to include this once I saw that there was an actual test out there!
I am a Hopeful Romantic!
Someday, True Love will find you. Then it will hold you, stare into your eyes, and say, “I’ve loved you through the ages, and I’ll love you forever.” And then, after years of happiness, you and True Love will buy a private island and retire there. Sure, you’ll both perish in that freak hurricane, but you’re together, and that’s what counts.
I can definitely see myself as the hopeful romantic – I mean I read so many books that have so many great stories with great Happily Ever Afters, how could I not daydream?? Though I could do without that freak hurricane . . .
So . . . this was a lot of fun to complete and I highly recommend anyone doing it as well! It actually gives a pretty good picture of my personality. It doesn’t catch everything, but it is really weird how spot on the Myers-Briggs and even some Zodiac meanings are to who I see myself as and how I believe I normally act.
I won’t tag anyone, but definitely do this tag if you’re interested – I would love to read other’s responses! :)
