Thank you to Kristen at Kristen Kraves Books for posting this first and introducing me to a new tag! Go read her post here!
Tags are always so fun to do (as I’ve said many times) because they help me to remember past books, to look forward, and think of books in a new way.
Let’s jump in!
The second-last book you read.
10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston. This was a really fun read (review to come!)
The second book from the top of your TBR
Okay, there are three ways that I can do this. Either the second to last book that I added to my Goodreads TBR, the second book overall I added to my Goodreads TBR, or the second book from the top of my physical TBR.
Second to last Goodreads add: Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World by Cal Newport
Second added to Goodreads: The Organ Broker by Stu Strumwasser
Second from the top of physical TBR: I technically have two for this. One is a library book and the other an ARC. Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey and The Dating Charade by Melissa Ferguson.
Two 2-star reads.
I was surprised by how many two star reads I’ve read! I picked two titles that many would know:
Two great books by the same author.
I have a small handful of authors to choose from. Instead of going with my usual picks, I decided to go with:
Coraline and Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman.
Now, I know there are so many other books by him, but these are the only ones I’d read so far. Definitely can’t wait to read more!
Two bails, or two books you’d wished you’d bailed on, or two books you hated.
Two bails. And a honorary title that I wished I bailed on:
Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol. I just remember it being ridiculous and I just could not. And then Sweethearts by Sara Zarr. Simply could not keep my attention past the first five pages.
The Sky Is Yours by Chandler Klang Smith. I really wish I didn’t take time to read this one.
Two favorite books this year.
Ooh this one is hard! I think I’m going to go with:
Sadie by Courtney Summers (review to come) and The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware (review to come).
Honorary titles would be Good Morning, Midnight by Lily-Brooks Dalton and Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan.
Two new favorite book bloggers.
A book you’ve read twice.
Just twice? The most recent is Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. I read it and then listened to the audio once I heard how good the audio version was.
Two fabulous quotes from books you’ve read recently.
“Sometimes we forgive others because it keeps our own hearts whole, not because they deserve it or for any thought of them.” ― Tessa Gratton, The Queens of Innis Lear
“You can love someone and still choose to say goodbye to them,” she says now. “You can miss a person every day, and still be glad that they are no longer in your life.” ― Tara Westover, Educated
This tag was a lot of fun! I hope that you enjoyed reading my answers and maybe you’ll consider doing it too. It makes me start thinking about the annual end of year book survey that no doubt I will be posting in the next few weeks.
