Happy September! August brought a few changes in my personal life that I’m still processing. However, work and my reading has been fairly steady. The pandemic, as many of you know, continues to create a new normal. This past month (and part of July) is where being in a quarantine of sorts has really gotten to me. I know that I will need to work on finding ways to help my mental health as Fall and Winter gets closer.
And now about the reading and books!
I read a total of 12 books. I cannot believe that I read that many books. Out of those 12, only 3 were on my August TBR. I had 6 books on my August TBR, so 50% isn’t too bad.
However, two of the books I did not read are the two ARCs I have left. I had every intention of reading them, especially since August hosts the ARC readathon. It may take me a couple more months to read them since I’m in a contemporary mood and one of them is a mystery/ thriller.
The TBR
Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin
Loner by Georgina Young
Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
How to Be a Person in the World: Ask Polly’s Guide Through the Paradoxes of Modern Life by Heather Havrilesky
The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen
Waking Gods (Themis Files #2) by Sylvain Neuvel
Only Human (Themis Files #3) by Sylvain Neuvel
Okay, I am determined to finish Rubin’s book, I think I only have a couple chapters left! Serious Moonlight, Eliza, and How to Be a Person are library books. Loner is one of the ARCs and Dessen’s book will finish my contemporary reading streak. I absolutely loved Neuvel’s first Themis Files book and I cannot wait to finish the trilogy; these will probably start my mystery/ thriller and Sci-Fi reading.
September is looking like it will be a good reading month!
The Themis Files is my favourite series. I can’t wait to see all your thoughts!

I’m so glad that I read how many people enjoyed the audiobooks! I had no idea about the format otherwise I would have read them so long ago! It’s definitely shaping up to be a favorite sci-fi series for me too!
