Announcing a Hiatus
The last couple of months have been weird for me, both in my reading world and my personal world. While I was able to read a lot in June, it really only happened because of the audiobooks I listened to. Otherwise, I found it hard to want to pick up a book. That feeling crept into July with me and never really went away and even spilled over into my blogging. Lately, I’ve been very uninspired to write book reviews, even for books that I loved!
I never thought that I would find myself announcing a hiatus from this blog and it makes me a little sad. However, I’m hoping to take the time to really just focus on reading and other aspects in my personal life. I’m also thinking of starting a different blog feature that would essentially take the place of more traditional book reviews, but that isn’t my priority right now. My priority is to take care of myself, restart habits that I let slide, and just enjoy doing what I want to do.
I don’t want to set a timeline for this hiatus in stone, so I’m not sure how long it will be. What I do know is that I will definitely take the whole month of August.
What I Read
I think July is one of my worst months yet. I only read three books mainly in the mysterious and dark moods. All three were fiction and two of them are considered slow paced. Two are of the fantasy genre and the other mystery/thriller. Out of the TBR I made for this month, I read only one.
- Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart
- The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo
- The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
