Happy October 1st! For some reason, I’m more excited that I usually am for spooky (reading) season. I have been mentally compiling a list of the all the books that would be perfect to read for spooky season aka the month of October. My recent book haul happened partly because I wanted to have a few books on hand for the season.
This list is compiled of some books from the book haul, some unread books I currently own, and possibly some library books.
- These Fleeting Shadows by Kate Alice Marshall
- The Woman in the Library by Sulari Gentill
- The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
- The Death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlin Starling
- Just Like Home by Sarah Gailey
- Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney
- Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
- If I Disappear by Eliza Jane Brazier
- The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
Survive the Night by Riley Sager(read in September)- Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin
- Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
- No Exit by Taylor Adams
- All Her Little Secrets by Wanda M. Morris
- The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton
- Winter Counts by David Heska Wanbli Weiden
- The Girl in Red by Christina Henry
- The Wolf Wants In by Laura McHugh
- These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant
- Blood Sugar by Sascha Rothchild
- Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
- The Every by Dave Eggers
Obviously I won’t be able to read all of these. The books in bold are the ones that I really, really want to be able to read, which is still a long list. Luckily, some of these are from my recent book haul, one is an ARC, and a couple others I already have holds on that will hopefully come in time for me to read them this month.
Be sure to check out my first recommendation posts for Mystery/ Thriller and Horror.
